DALPA Communication - Other employee groups

As i've flown over the past several months i've noticed increased hostility between flight attendants and pilots. Why? Ignorance. The company is playing this on all fronts and honestly...DALPA should as well.

DALPA should make an effort to communicate with other Delta employees (specifically flight attendants) as to what's on the table as far as joint venture and RJ scope protections and how what Delta pilots are fighting for will not only benefit Delta pilots but all Delta flrontline employees.

Here's a perfect example of what i'm talking about...it's a letter from the Hawaiian ALPA MEC to other Hawaiian employees:

Ignorance is Delta managements biggest asset. They played it perfectly during the flight attendant union elections and they are using it now to pit other employee groups against the big, bad, greedy pilots.

Sure, this would be a departure of past practice where DALPA had no contact with any other employee groups and tried to please management and cut out mediocre deals. Obviously, based on your rejection of TA15, and the new DALPA leadership you elected i'm guessing you think that was not the way to go.

If you support and agree with such inclusion please contact your DALPA rep and suggest this to them. It's something that has been done with other carriers and in my opinion would be more favorable for all Delta pilots to have other employee groups on your side rather than helping management.

Average to below average management teams routinely go to that page in the playbook. Not sure if DL is or not at this point, but it doesn't work. All it does is throw sand in the gears of employee relations and that's not good for anyone. I can't think of a single pilot on any side of any of this that would accept any of management's poison pills in order to hopefully please other labor groups. That's just not a thing. Like at all.

The purpose wouldn't be to please other employee groups but rather educate other employee groups on managements proposal to weaken JV scope and add more large RJs for example. Other employee groups are only hearing what management is telling them...and yes, DL management is talking. Just the other day in the MCO lounge I overheard an in-flight supervisor tell a group of F/As "hopefully the pilots will come to their senses, they're asking for way too much money and they're going to screw up the momentum we have".

They may be talking but if so it is counter productive. Frankly I don't give 2 shlts what the FAs think about our negotiations. Sure it would be nice if you were on board, but your enmity won't sway my decision nor move management one way or the other. Any discord between the 2 groups will ultimately result in worse service to our customers which is something management does not want.

When I engage with FA's as to our negotiations, I simply remind them that we are still being paid 18% LESS than in 2004, AND we lost our retirement! I tell them that at least $2 Billion of Delta's record earnings every year came from our ongoing pay cuts and lost retirement plans.

I remind them that Ed blew $4.5 Billion on bad fuel hedging, and is also blowing $6 Billion on stock buybacks.... for himself!

I tell them the pilots simply want our pay and retirement restored, before Ed blows any more of our stolen retirement funding on stock buybacks.

What was the DC contribution amount prior to 2004? Also how big was the bankruptcy claim?

"So I hear you guys are asking for way too much and that you are all greedy....." or anything else to this affect.

"Don't know anything about it, anyway the weather in Phoenix is ...."

It's probably limited to the 100-200 who flit around the HQ acting like they owe their entire existence to mother Delta and pledge their loyalty to the same!

How do you spell sycophant?

Where were you on career day?

There is a severe pilot shortage. Want me to help you find a flight school?

A flight attendant supervisor is hardly management.
