You obviously missed the point. The DPA has been dividing this group since C2012. Whether alpa is the worst or the best at least we would be acting as 1 group vs. what is happening now...

DPA doesn't divide anyone. Pilots disillusioned with their current union choose to sacrifice unity. Someone will always be there to catch those who run away from ALPA - if not DPA, then someone or something else.

And has never ever ever lied or mislead the membership. Ever.

Speaks volumes.

I didn't miss your point at all, just disagree with it. Some would argue that our union, not DPA, has been dividing this group for the last year, with the future looking not so solid. Acting as one group? Does that mean an MEC united 19 to 0? No thanks, I'll take 12/7 as long as it's on the more logical side of 11/8 last summer.

I've said it before and will repeat here to set a baseline for my views on DPA - I don't hold an allegiance to any specific CBA, be it ALPA or DPA. For all I care, the Mickey Mouse Club can be my CBA as long as they do the job they are supposed to do because I am PAYING them. That being said, here are some of my observations WRT the whole ALPA vs. DPA issue.

- I'll stay with the horse that is mine in the current race, and that is DALPA until we see a contract for MEMRAT. Changing CBAs mid negotiations would hurt us more than help us - JMO.

- The DPA crowd has been instrumental in shedding light on much of the DALPA dishonesty that was contained in the failed TA.

- Management has historically been complicit with DALPA in actively policing crew lounges to prevent DPA material while at the same time welcoming DALPA with open arms, wonder why that is?

- If the posters on this forum are any indication, the pro-DALPA crowd is much more likely to talk down to people, particularly junior folks. My experience has been that DALPA is a good ol boys club and there seems to be a degree of selective representation based on that club membership and adherence to their group think.

- Folks pushing for DPA don't have much to gain outside of Delta pilot representation. Many DALPA folks on the other hand continue on to ALPA National or continue drawing ALPA funding in some way shape or form after leaving a DALPA position.
