Maybe they should have ordered 350-1000s.

Supposedly a 330 neo = 773 casm. If so, wow.
I have thought this myself, the 1000 is supposed to be some 25% more efficient than the 773ER. It seems more like a true replacement aircraft for he whale and the A359 seems like a good replacement for the 777-200ER which Delta has never seemed to care much for with only 8 in the fleet.

The person that spoke about the order being cancelled was speaking out of place... and that was last year.

I've also heard that the numbers on the 350 are at promised, just the production is slower than planned... hence us taking it in July. There is pushback from some of the powers that be due to it being designed to be completely paperless from the get go, plus a few other IT issues... we are talking about jumping into the technology of tomorrow with our current technology. So you know how that goes. New technology, paperless, not a Boeing... that's going to freak some people out, and thus the wishful thinking of "we're gonna cancel it!"

Delta does have 787s now, they just have Virgin Atlantic painted on the tail.

Welcome to Sea-Tac! Virgin Atlantic begins new nonstop service to London. The daily Boeing 787-9 flight replaces 767 service by Delta, a Joint Venture partner of Virgin Atlantic. London is our largest international market with multiple daily nonstop flights. This new flight option adds 50 more seats to London Heathrow.

It is rather ironic (to me). I always envisioned VS with 350s and us with 787s.

Well. Until the airbus fleet comes up with their stick shaker policy...

I hear to be in compliance with Airbus procedures, the autopilot will be required to be on from 100 feet with only one non-autolanding done every 4 months. The autothrust will not be allowed to be turned off ever. They originally designed it without a stick at all.

If AF447 had not had a stick - would it have crashed?
