Precisely. I got on Navtech and was bidding with no problems Day 1. Never watched a video.

FL370esq 03-05-2017 12:16 PM

It would be nice if it had a display like EZBid did which showed the filtered trips after entering a preference/preferences - very logical and informative with the whole month laid out. This is a YUUUGE step backwards.

Please. It shouldn't take a village to learn how to bid. Notepads, webinars and snarky emails from AZ. Easybid is what the name implies.

I wonder if there are a couple of pilots who own rights to Nav Blue and want it to be successful here so they can sell it to other airlines.

I have tried it several times and find it totally inferior, not user friendly and slow as molasses.

Nope. Maybe a couple of IT guys though.

I'm done. They just want to ram a square peg in round hole.
To me it appears they don't want to hear it....

Same here. I made a polite suggestion that would make this pig a little more user friendly and was told 'we're not interested in your ideas'.

I suppose its so bad in its current form, they cant think past getting to run error free. Thats too bad, because i bet 13,000 engaged users could come up with lots of great suggestions.

Hmmmmmm.....has EasyBid come to an end? Went to download next month's bid package and it said "Not Found."

Mine worked for April.

I know I'm whining but I seem to be putting in a lot of time outside working, learning new PBS, contract etc. I guess I need to bid more 30hr layovers. Did I mention training by memo really ****es me off? Well, it does. Rant over.

I agree. Kind of like door pay :)

You are correct that we should be paid for significant changes like this. It needs to be codified in the contract, and changing the CBA won't fix that.

I don't know about other airlines, but it seems like we are getting smothered with so much reading material.

AZ put out a great 1 hr 35 min video on the new web app. Should be on youtube. In the video he stated that easy bid and the old web based PBS will be phased out in the next few bid periods.

I am beginning to like the new web app bidder. It will take a few hours of your own time to read notepads and watch videos to fully grasp the new product.

Same here. Sent a screenshot to the powers that be. I'm concerned!

But now just tried it again...and it worked. Life is good!

MikeF16 03-06-2017 05:26 AM

I refuse to use it until absolutely mandatory. I can't remember if it was flight OPS or ALPA that sent out an email this month with the stat that about 5000 pilots had used the new system. To me the tone of the email was like they'd won some kind of victory and the program is awesome, just look how many people are using it... I thought about giving it a try but I really like the PBS desktop application. I won't touch the new program until the old one is 100% dead.

sailingfun 03-06-2017 06:30 AM

Easybid posted today that there system will work after the changeover. No need to panic if you want to keep the simple easy to use system.

Well, they SAY that but, in the end, will it be true..........?

I think those guys are on to a pretty lucrative gig. Seems silly they wouldn't update their software when they might be in a potential growth scenario. Now, will it work immediately? Who knows, but I'm sure they'll eventually get their crap coagulated and will probably make out like bandits.

Falcon20 03-06-2017 08:16 AM

I tried to go to the web app in the ATL A lounge yesterday and all I got was an error 404 page not found.

What a pile of crap. The desktop version worked fine and could be used offline.

FL370esq 03-06-2017 08:30 AM

Phew.....finally got April to load on EasyBid.

Tried using the Airbus app this AM and I must confess, I was more frustrated than a deaf mute at Bingo with Bingo trying to yell "Bingo!" as I entered bids. It is "functional" but incredibly labor intensive and finicky. Hopefully they will be able to improve its interface and functionality.

And, as was said before, if AZ has to put out an hour and 35 minute video on how to use this new app, I'm thinking the new platform isn't so intuitive/user friendly.

Ever since the company got sold to Sabre, they haven't been as responsive as they could be.....

Just sayin'. I like the product and have used it since it was developed. I remember using it on my 486................don't quite remember using it on the 386 but might have....

In all fairness, I've received nothing but positive responses from my recommendations to the PBS committee. Most of the items I suggested we're already on the list to fix. They even took the time to explain why one of my ideas wouldn't be implemented...admittedly, I didn't expect it to be implemented.

I'd never heard of easybid until this webapp uproar started. I've never had a problem bidding with Navtech or the new webapp. However, based on the amount of teeth gnashing about he webapp, I may try it out to see what it's all about. Does it work on Mac?

Didn't work on my MAC (w/o buying windows).

notEnuf 03-06-2017 05:00 PM

I reluctantly took time to view the vids on YouTube. I don't like the new format but the logic of bidding is the same as the old Navtech. I recommend Google chrome. I've had the best results with it and the demos are done on chrome but with a MacBook. I'm using my su(ck)rfa(ss)ce 3 and all the function seem to work with chrome. Good luck and do it on a long sit or layover. At least that way you aren't wasting home time to not get paid.

I can't read between the lines. What are you trying to communicate? The Sucka$$3 isn't good?
That's like saying Delta IT is pronounced ...IT, but the SH is silent.

Why is it I never see anyone use (cr)apple or iph(ail)? Is it stereotyping if its true? Micros(hit). :D

As a good friend of mine was fond of saying, "Stereotypes save time". The great thing about the new PBS app though is it is horrible across all platforms, so there is no longer any discrimination against all of the app(ho)les.

dancerfrog 03-17-2018 07:17 AM

The most hated technology at Delta besides the surface tablet. It needs a fully functional calendar format with fully visible trip footprint for preferred and filtered trips so what is happening is clear. No clarity. Easybid is old, clunky and limited, but what it has is concept of design. You can actually see what's happening as you enter preferences. The preferred as well as the avoids. PBS has numbers to look at. This is not progress. It sucks and we all know it. It needs a calendar that actually shows trips. THE ENTIRE TRIP. I don't schedule a haircut without looking at a calendar. Why should I bid without one on the screen?

I was unable to download the new update for Easybid for several months. For April, it couldn’t send my bids because of changes made to PBS so I was forced to update the program. My computer would download it but then my computer would inform me that “an administrator has blocked the download”. I had to back out of the program and right click the desktop shortcut and select “run as administrator”. After that, it worked fine. Every time I tried to download the bid packet, it would say something about username and password incorrect until I updated the Easybid software.
