You want 1 and 2 days, an easy drive, and close to the beach. Don't discount Long Island at all. That's where I am, and I check all those boxes. It's expensive yes but super convenient to JfK/LGA. Pm of you have any questions. There are a handful of LI delta guys and we believe(know) it's one of the best kept secrets in the company(I can give it away bc people still fear living here). Its 101 miles from my driveway to the parking lot at JFK. NYC has a very liberal rush hour...meaning its 7 am to 10 am and 2pm to 6pm. and at Any time an accident can occur somewhere in the tristate area to affect all of it!
In Rush hour, it has taken me 3 hrs to get there...but usually 2.5...Listening to NYC traffic on the Satellite radio before you go is a must. And fortuitous to recheck every 30 min on your drive in as well as crosscheck with the local NYC AM radio stations as you get closer and pick them up. 1010 and 880 are good every 10 minutes on the 1 and 8's for traffic.

Theres a lot of areas where commuting simply isn't that bad. BOS, DC and most FL cities are extremely high frequency, and there's a few other well kept secrets out there too, many of which will save you unbelievable money for not much net hassle if any.
