Should have been Cannoll.

Also, I know firsthand how tough it is to do that, but he did say the foreign pilots "might be safer" than we are. Watch the video for context. My comment sounds worse than it came off.

Otherwise, good visibility on the topic.

I didn't vote for DJT, but this might be one tiny silver lining if he gets this overturned (it won't affect me either way). Old fart.

I did not see the comment that foreign pilots might be safer then we are. Watched it twice. Can you provide a time stamp?

No time at the moment. It's when the Fox guy asks if there's a safety concern. The ALPA guy replies something to the effect "I don't know if they're less safe, they might be more safe. I don't know". Paraphrasing.

It's there.

It's at 2:10 on the tape. He say's I don't know if they are less or more safe however US airlines are the safest in the world.

Horrible job. When is ALPA going to learn to hire a professional PA person to put on TV. He did not frame the issue well for people to understand and the real issues which is job losses and reduced safety. His comment about safety was way unsat. He looked like a novice because he is. He's a pilot not a PA/marketing guy. The American public wants the cheapest ticket, but they don't want to die or think they are putting their family in harms way to get it. No one cares he's a Captain or former Air Force pilot. Is this the top talent ALPA has?? How effective has ALPA, APA or SWAPA been at stopping Delta's virtual airline model or ME3 or RJ expansion.

He didn't do a great job, but the fact that this is even on the national news is a good thing. Your average viewer isn't going to dissect this interview the way some people here will, so I'd say he didn't do a terrible job either. Basically we've got a done deal under the Obama administration now getting a 2nd look under a new boss. The timing really couldn't be better. If Trump revokes NAI's permit and kicks the ME3 in the junk he will claim he saved 150,000 good paying aviation jobs. Whether that statement is true or not wouldn't matter, the headline is all that counts in the Kim Kardashian news era.

Trump might do something about NAI. I will be totally schocked if he does anything other then aide the ME3. He has way to much involved financially in the region.

It will be interesting. I personally could give a crap about what any politician says as most are full of it - its what they do that counts and time will tell.

I find it hard to believe that a billionaire elected president cares more about making money for his business empire than doing what he thinks is right - whether that is actually right or not. I just don't see him bending his will for future financial considerations.

I did see something on the news that he is scheduled to meet with airline industry executives so maybe we will learn something on this topic sooner rather than later.
