Seattle, WA

Oh, how can I resist a combination of a new category and my hometown!

If you are in Seattle for a few hours to several days, there's plenty to do. Below are my favorites:

Museum of Flight - particularly relevant, close by.
Pike Place Market - try to have breakfast at Lowell's.
Experience Music Project
Olympic Sculpture Park - new and nationally acclaimed.
Teatro Zinzanni
Washington State Ferries - the ride to Bainbridge Island at sunset is nice.
Seattle Art Museum - newly renovated, bigger and better.
International District/Chinatown - visit Uwajimaya store, eat at Made in Kitchen.

And last, but not least, you can always have lunch with me! :)

And on a long enough layover, rent a car and drive up to Everett for a tour of the Boeing factory.

The Virginia Inn, I think it's on 1st & Virginia? Great little bar/cafe just up the (steep) hill from the waterfront. Wide selection of cold adult beverages & an outdoor table or two that if you're lucky enough to snag you can see the water.

If you’re in Seattle ... Try going down to the water late in the day and you might be able to grab a ride in a Kenmore Air Beaver. I did it last summer and was surprised that the pilot let me fly with him back to Kenmore on the last flight of the day. Only thing is, you might need to find a way back to Seattle afterwards.

Alki beach in West Seattle during warm months is a very inviting place... great views of the sound and passing boats/ferries/ships and if you like fried fish, try Spud Fish & Chips there.

if you're up for a drive, Snoqualmie Falls is a cool site, near the town of Snoqualmie off of I-90

Close up of the Concorde, sit in the cockpit of an SR-71, check out the 707 Air Force One,

I've been here for a week now and really want to check out the museum.

For the summertime, I'd recommend renting a road bike and exploring the city that way. I did it last summer before I moved here and it was a great time, especially if you're with a g/f b/f or friend.

Hiking

I don't know if anyone is into the outdoors, but I'm a pretty avid hiker, backpacker. Anyone in Seattle looking for a hiking buddy, let me know.

Boat trips

If you have a whole day, take the boat to Victoria, B.C. and see Butchert Gardens, or the boat to Friday Harbor and see the whale museum.
