MEM Breakfast
 

Does anyone know a good breakfast place near the airport, or in the terminal (outside of security), or possibly as far as Poplar Ave? My brother-in-law is flying into town at 8:30am and wants to eat a nice breakfast when he arrives. I live out east of town so I always eat breakfast at home but my son is also flying into MEM two hours later so we will be returning to the airport so I don't want to stray too far away from the terminal.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Monday morning? On the south side of Winchester directly across from the Tower is the Signature FBO at KMEM. Signature is located in the Old Airline terminal that served Memphis from 1937 to 1963 when the present airline terminal opened. Signature has a restaurant in the FBO that is operated by Larry and Susanne Busby (owner of Front street Deli on Winchester by Tullahoma); It is open for breakfast and lunch; Good food.

A lot of aviation folks in Memphis are unaware of this classic airline terminal that was restored in year 2000. Pictures of bygone days at "Memphis Aero" FBO are displayed; pay special tribute to "Preacher' who worked there many years driving the courtesy van until he retired about 2 years ago. You will not believe how old he was when he retired !

This sounds interesting! My family is flying into MEM on Thursday morning. Is it only open on Mondays? I will definitely check out the web site.

Monday through Friday I believe, Breakfeast and lunch; check with Signature. Free parking in front of terminal. Coming East on Winchester, as you exit the tunnel under RWY 18C, bear to the right and go up to Signature.
