Default MSP F.O. course - car or no car?

Anyone done the entire 90+ days with no car? Thinking of driving up, but it's a long drive. I like the idea of getting out in the outdoors (hiking/running/cycling) for a break when possible. Noob to the Twin Cities area. 16 Oct Class. Looks like most good state parks are 2+ hours away. Worth it to bring a car for some time exploring closer to the cities?

Thanks,

Smash

Search Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan and the Minnesota River Valley Wildlife Refuge. Pretty good city hiking and a cheap Uber ride away from the hotel.

MSP has really good public transportation from the airport/Mall of America. After that, Uber and lyft are plentiful and easy to use.

I've spent multiple 60+ day stays in MSP without a car, though I wasn't looking for that kind of recreation. There is actually very good public transportation there ( well compared to what I was used to living near CVG and DTW ) The long stay hotels I have stayed at had nice paths to run/bike... the only issue with flying in rather than driving would be transporting a bike, or just jog the paths.

Aren't you only up there like 3 days for ground school now?

I also thought about driving up so I could have my car but ended up taking the PS flights and didn't regret not having a car. Like has been said, the Twin Cities has good public transit and if you do have enough time away from studying to do something fun, there's a good chance you'll make friends with a local classmate and you can plan a trip together with his/her car. Or just rent a car for the day with your new Delta perks discount for cheaper than it would've cost you to drive up.

No, that was part of the trial LOA, that IIRC, expired with no effort on either end to extend it. It was the week of Indoc, they came for a day and a half, went home for the rest of the week. Gen Subs and systems were still the exact same footprint.
