Default AME at Atlanta airport

Just a shameless plug here for my AME in Atlanta for folks new to the area. This guy has always treated me square and from conversations in the office, it sounds like he really works with folks to keep them flying. My last exam without EKG was $136. He does not take my insurance, so I'm not sure if he will file it with insurance or not.

He is located across the street from the previously-XHT hangar.

I’m fixing to go see him soon.
How does he do with special issuance? People use him for that a lot I’ve heard.

I had a stroke in April of 2017, I started talking with Dr. Faulkner about a six months after it happen. He told me right off hand that the FAA normally requires a two year wait for a CVA, but if a cause was found and treated that they will look at it after the one year mark. At the one year mark he looked over everything again and told me what additional tests I needed to do to show the FAA how I was progressing, which took about 3 months to schedule on my behalf with my doctors. After that, we got all my medical records together for one of his consultants to review before sending it to the FAA. He has been very up front with me since day one and we just sent all my stuff to the FAA earlier this month, hopefully we will hear something back in the next few weeks. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Default AME at Atlanta airport

I've known Dr. Tom for over 20 years. He guided me after I had cancer and kept me flying. No better guy to have for an AME for us pilots.

Another new satisfied customer of Dr. Tom Faulkner. Busy practice, friendly pilot friendly guy. In/out within an hour even though I had a special issuance which required a phone call to OKC and the regional flight surgeon. Cost $135. Previously when in ATL I used Dr. Stacey Vereen who has since retired after a cancer diagnosis.

I commute from DFW to ATL for my medical, just to see Dr. Faulkner.
Another huge fan here.

Conversational voice.

I've never needed the headphones, so I'm not sure how he does that.

Not a fan of Doc Griffin? The in and out in 15 minute pilot medical factory?
