Default Reserve pay credit

I asked this question within another thread but thought it might be better served in its own thread. Sorry for asking twice.

If you get the early upgrade to 900 due to prior experience, what kind of pay credit per month is reasonable to expect while on reserve? Can you get to at least 85 hours? I am assuming it will certainly be NY based.

900 RSV CA in NY are flying a lot. It’s possible to credit 85 or more hours on reserve. January may be slow and February.

Company says 88
Union says 83

Mine personally for 2017 holding a good line and bidding Max days off was about 79ish

Just checked Rainmaker because I dropped a reserve day earlier in the month. Noticed that they cut 4:00 hours instead of 3:52. I know 8 minutes may not be a big deal to some, but the issue is that they used the old software logic for building my reserve schedule (11 days off vs. new 12), yet they used the new JCBA time credit penalty for the dropped day. Placed a comment on Rainmaker, so we'll see what comes back.

Hopefully they'll just agree and that'll be it. If not I guess decide if you're willing to fill out a pilot issue form (pre req to a grievance) for 8 minutes of pay. (Not saying you shouldn't, that COULD be an issue that affects everyone who dropped reserve this month and therefore a group grievance)

For a newer CA, that would equate to about $12. For a “saltier” CA, that could end up being $16. Allow it once a month, and that’s about $192 in lost wages plus $23 in unmatched 401K funds.

I don't disagree with you. That's why I said he'd have to decide whether it was worth his time. $12-16 dollars a month might not be worth the effort for some. Just depends how cheap or stickler you are. I've definitely been both at various times in my life. It's a personal choice.

I understand. I know some who check rainmaker every pay period, and I know some who probably couldn’t find it online without a lot of help. Personally, I only check when something “weird” happens, like a time out, extension, OT, etc. Have probably only saved myself a few duckies over time, but... just this month, I picked up some P200, it showed in Crew Trac, but not on RM. For the whole 4-day trip. At the new rates. That would have been some SERIOUS lack of drinking funds. Glad I checked it! YMMV

Yikes!

Yeah, I'm similar, don't check it always but do of something abnormal occurs.

I have caught a few things that would have cost me some coin, never a whole 4 day though.. that's a new high.
