My rule of thumb is talk to 5 pilots at each place you are considering...if 4/5 of them hate it, it is not just them, there’s a real issue. If 2/5 hate it then it might just be those 2 people. The best thing is you’ll end up with 5 different people giving you information on what the pros and cons are which will help you make an informed decision.

I would avoid Trans States Holdings and Mesa unless those are the only places that’ll offer you a 121 gig.
That is a good suggestion, how do you think one would be able to get a hold of unbiased FO's, especially in person?

Impossible, unless you know them already. Everyone is biased, one way or another. The trick is getting enough feedback to make an informed decision.

EDV is a great place to be right now. In 6 months that could change, but the tea leaves indicate that the next 12-18 months are only going to get better for us.

A 2.5 hour drive to CLT for PSA seems mighty attractive. Endeavor is a great place to be. But so is your car instead of a jumpseat after a 4-day trip. Put on a podcast, some sweats, drink some coffee. Two hour drive to base is cake compared to thinking about loads, weather, just missing your commute because of ramp congestion, etc. I promise.

Sit long call from home, or for short call drive most of the way, sit at a Starbucks, if they call go to work, if they don’t drive back home.

Not sure on your timeline but be aware that there's currently an eight week wait from applying to interview at Endeavor. Even if someone was applying today there's a good chance they might not even start class this year.

Is Endeavor worth waiting for? I dont know maybe.

I don't know about that. I think the next class available is July or August.

Yes but by the time someone interviews if they apply today I bet most of the remaining classes are filled.

As someone who has commuted in the past, I would strongly advise against it for a regional airline, especially if you have a choice. If you can drive to a base within the call-out period then you pretty much stay at home while on RSV. All you have to do is get ready with bags packed in the event you get the call. As an added note, getting the actual 2.5 hr call out while possible, is the exception rather than the rule in my experience anyway. Driving to a half-way point like Starbucks and hanging out as someone suggested might work as well, but will make for a long sit and I would only do it if I was high on the call list.

Pilot domiciles change or grow/shrink. Just one part of the decision process

Commuting is absolutely not that bad if you live somewhere with good flight options. My day is really just 3-4 hours longer on the front end and 3-4 hours longer on the back end. Done and done

Not all are as lucky
