200 guys tell themselves they’re real pilots because they push 4 bleed buttons and have fewer days off.

(Lobbing that one and running)

The 200 makes real real pilots because there's only an FMS on the left side, so the FO can only fly in green needles.

What! You don’t have 2 FMS’s??. Hmmm guess they won’t be around for ADSB...

We have ADSB on a number of 200s, no 2nd FMS required

The mandatory part of ADS-B is a transponder thing, not a flight management thing.

Correct. I just talked to our tech guy. We went with 2 FMS do to dispatching reliability... no more Green needle back up.. so FMS inop would be a no go item..unless you have 2..

So you have no MEL to defer ADS-B? More weight needs the front of a 200, just what the world needs.

My understanding is that an INOP FMS will be a no go item on the 200 when ADSB takes effect. I was under the impression that ADSB was disabled on the handful of 200 equipped birds - but it was active last week and in the dispatch remarks.

On the 900 vs 200 real pilots argument - sounds just like the 340 vs AVRO argument. But I will say it’s easier to fly the 900 if you learned on the 200 - the same cannot be said on the going to the 200 from the 900.
