My understanding is that an INOP FMS will be a no go item on the 200 when ADSB takes effect. I was under the impression that ADSB was disabled on the handful of 200 equipped birds - but it was active last week and in the dispatch remarks.
On the 900 vs 200 real pilots argument - sounds just like the 340 vs AVRO argument. But I will say it’s easier to fly the 900 if you learned on the 200 - the same cannot be said on the going to the 200 from the 900.

900 has longer routes, lineholders get more days off, and may be perceived as more comfortable due to snacks and first class meals and such. Also fewer operational issues such as inop apu. Also a bigger variety of flying especially out of nyc... always seeing new overnights.
900 has shorter reserve in nyc on fo side at this moment in time as as measured by the December awards. 200 pilots are mostly seatlocked so there will not be much movement on that airframe for the next 6-12 months, at which point most of those pilots will leave for the 900 or upgrade.
200 is the better option to get to DTW or ATL a bit sooner, and hold a line there. Almost a year and a half to a line in ATL 900 fo...

Is a transponder a no-go item now? I'm sure like everything, it will be deferable. It is, not disabled on the 200's that I've been in recently. I would guess, just from what I've seen, that we have at least 5 200's with active ADS-B, but I have no firm numbers on that.

Don’t bid equipment. Bid lifestyle.
I’ve held a line and had excellent QOL in my chosen base solely because I fly the 200. I don’t marry my ego to the length of my jet. That said, a 900 may be better for you, it all depends what you’re looking for!

Aren’t the 900 guys having serious trouble consolidating now? Or is that both types? I’d heard reserves are never getting called because we’re fat on pilots, particularly on the 900...
