Default Long Call Reserve

I can finally hold LCR as a NYC 900 CA; wondered on peoples experience with it.
How often are you called, how much notice, and what's a typical footprint?
Any thoughts on the >6 days option. What chance the 30hrs free will be in base, or do you expect a long stay hotel somewhere?
any feedback appreciated..

This is only my first month on LCR, but I'm liking it so far. I'm getting called less than I was on short-call, and the shortest notice I've been given was 16 hours (only once; the other trips I saw on my schedule more than 24 hours out). It's a big QOL improvement (granted, I live in base; I still wouldn't recommend it for commuters). I could hold a line next month, but might bid LCR anyway in order to get the days off I want.

I don't really want to be a guinea pig for the 6+ days thing, so I'll wait a little bit to see how that shakes out before thinking about it.

How many days a month are you working on LCR? This seems like a good option if you have a busy month.

I'm a commuter close to holding it. I have a 5 hour dead window, where if they call me, I won't make it. Planning on bidding last out and hope for the best.

I've been idle 4 days so far this month (with three days of availability remaining + recurrent), which is about the same as I was doing on short call, maybe a little better (in terms of not getting called).

This month the trips I've been getting have been pretty low credit, mostly not breaking min day. Not sure how that compares to what's going on with short call.

I'm pretty sure long call is permanent first out.

You can still bid long call last out. You go out last out of the long call bucket.

LCR is totally dependent on how much open time there is. Sick calls generally go to short call, unless scheduling has to break up the trip. Reserves already flying are first out, then long call, and finally short call.

Well then LCR was the right bet for MSP and DTW 900 for Oct. There was a total of 6 pairings left (2 msp, 4 dtw) in open time when I checked right after it unlocked on the 18th. And as of now, there's nothing in DTW and a 15 hour credit 4 day in MSP. There are amazingly a few green days in the reserve grid though.
