A Propel kid won't get a whiff of DL for close to four years. Why are you guys so nervous about this program? Krikey, you're on property, you're halfway there...or in some cases, already in the queue once DL opens hiring again.

Biggest problem with the Propel program is they get to know at the beginning if they are going on to delta or not (as long as they stay in the lines). I just wish we had the same so if you weren’t you’d know it and could alter your path if you felt you should. As for a flow probably the last thing that sound happen seeing some of the people that went over on the compass flow they have to be able to weed out people.

Because for guys hired here in the last 6-9 months, without any significant movement off the top or any significant growth, they’re probably more than 4 years from interviewing via the DGI.

That’s the problem with the 180 pilot limit on a pilot list that numbers about 2000 right now. The aborted Endeavor to Delta program was going to be at least 300 a year. Why so few when the Propel pilots get hired in 42 months or less without even a Captain requirement?

Before my time. I had heard about the EDV to DL program and saw how it died on the vine. I wonder if our reps, knowing what they know now, would have taken the same stance and demanded the program be terminated? Not that we'd be a different airline today, but you know how hindsight goes...

Hey, at least I can don my New Balance shoes and enjoy some unbiased, controversy-free entertainment tonight as the dynamic Super Bowl champs kick things off with what is sure to be a well-fought battle with DL's hometown team! Who's with me?

I don't think the program was terminated because the reps requested it be. It was terminated because it was ill conceived and causing harm to the company's ability to recruit pilots. The problem was it was the idea of a senior delta executive and although it was clear that it was failing he wouldn't allow our CEO to terminate the program because it would make him look bad. That combined with one of the worst contracts in the industry at the time was its demise.

Default Interesting

Some like(d) them some did not. The victim will be P3 reserve. I thought I read we were going to 30% LCR but I still only see 15%. This would be a good reason to put more on LCR. This also, may or may not, lead to more lines of flying and/or longer layovers. I always thought Splits, etc... were not safe but that may be just me. Staffing and hiring may be affected but with growth apparently coming it should not be a big deal.

For the record, the Big D, nor do I think any other major, do Split duties and there may be a big reason. Red eyes are another deal all together.

I am not sure how this will affect other regionals as well.

Propel Advance isn’t the college route he’s talking about. Advance isn’t even in the same league, hence the name, Advance.
