Delta Guaranteed Interview (DGI)

Has anyone gone through or heard stories from friends about the DGI? I have a bachelors degree, but my GPA wasn’t good, so the DGI is a plus for me. I was wondering if it actually made a difference in being able to get hired a Delta, or if they would politely interview an endeavor pilot because they are required to, and then decline based on a factor like a low GPA, or whatever else might not fit their preferred hiring criteria. Any stories or experiences welcome, thanks!

The first DGI interviews start in December.

Regarding GPA Delta has hired people off the street with less than a 2.5. They have hired people with DUIs and checkride failures as well. You just gotta own up to it and show how you improved since.

You have to meet all of Delta’s minimum hiring requirements, all DGI does it get you pulled for interview if you meet all the requirements. The interview is not easier in any way.

Let’s hope at least some credit is given where credit is due for already flying around Delta’s passengers on Delta’s planes. They will have access to all of our training and employment records... if they dont use that to our advantage to help make hiring decisions then this may go very poorly...

I did the SSP. My gpa was 2.0. Barely graduated. Had two check ride failures. I got the job. Anything is possible.

They don't give any credit for flying in the system already. This program will probably have the same issues as the SSP in that normal off the street candidates are pre-screened and ones that aren't competitive aren't called for the interview. In the DGI they're forced to interview you when your number is up. Delta's normal off the street success rate is around 75%. I would anticipate DGI being around 65% given that they're not pre-screened.

We had an agreement that they couldn't hold that stuff against you in the SSP, as long as you didn't try to hide it. How you did on your day of the interview is what mattered. The DGI however, is anyone's guess.

Your new here aren’t you?

Delta doesn’t care that you came from the wholly owned, as a matter of fact they have an interest in you not leaving 9E so you can keep making the mothership more money. The only advantage you have is you already know how DL does things and it will help you in training.

The interview is identical to off the streets - your just guaranteed one eventually through DGI if your fully qualified.
