So according to the union email from a few weeks ago, they may only have to repeat that one segment of the interview process. that held them back from the cjo. Same goes for SSP repeats. Don’t think that has been finalized yet, though.

So let me see if I am understanding this. You all work for a wholly owned subsidiary of delta. You fly delta passengers exclusively, 90% of which have no idea they are not on a delta crewed airplane. On a delta owned airplane, painted in delta colors in and out the same airports, same weather same airspace etc. and delta has the arrogance to reject an individual and send them back to Endeavor to do the same exact job all-be-it for pennies on the dollar? Am I the only one that sees the complete and utter hypocrisy in this? What would happen if, God forbid one of these people had an incident at Endeavor and word got out they were rejected by delta and then sent back to fly delta passengers at a regional? In what universe is this acceptable? You can't square it morally. You can't square it ethically. Please don't misunderstand me, I feel that everyone in this program should be hired and no one should lose their jobs. Quite honestly it's indefensible but it is delta after all. Good luck to all of you.

This is exactly what makes all the crusty old “double no” captains I fly with so bitter... and I can’t really blame them!

Did you just crawl out from under a rock? Where have you been the last 20+ years of the regional model? This isn’t anything new.

In the end Delta wants the last word on who they hire. This should surprise no one.

Just like you stated, nothing has been finalized. Repeat candidates still have to go through the entire 2-day interview process.

The surprise wasn't that Delta wanted to be selective, the surprise was how many great people they turned away, only to hire some of our worst. I think it's great that Delta gave a second chance to a lot of pilot's whose career would have been over otherwise, but a lot of great pilots had to find work at other carriers.

Isn’t this the truth?

It’s that superior vetting process.

Beyond all the smoke and mirrors, that old saying goes, Delta doesn’t hire pilots, they hire Delta pilots. Without a doubt the Delta South culture still exists. It’s just a beauty pageant. They want pilots that fit their “image”. We can rock the interview, be the best pilot on paper but they want people who will fit in at the club. They want “the look”. We all like to joke about it but the double breasted jacket and hat but it’s a real culture.
