The unfortunate side of trying to organize is that it’s incredibly expensive. I can’t remember the actual numbers but it would be asking 100% of the pilots to hand over a little more than just a pretty penny to cover legal fees to get something going. Try asking all the 23 year old kids fresh out of ERAU to give up their date night with that PSP flight attendant money.

Yeah, that doesn't really sound too likely...

We were 7 votes short of having a successful ALPA drive in 2007. Not sure how management manages to keep unions out, but they do. Hoping the drive is successful this time around. Most people I talk to either want ALPA or to certify SAPA as a real union. The latter will just cost too much money is my guess. When Southwest did it, Herb helped the pilots front the start up costs.

I'll "Schedule with Safety" on my own until then I suppose.

The fact is that SkyWest’s latest pay agreement passed by more than 2/3 of the pilot group. Some of you guys need a hobby.

Because 2/3 of the pilot group got the vast majority of the improvements.

The one that just pays sort of okay? Yeah, real barn burner. Guess there was nowhere to go but up, though.

Don’t get me wrong, I was rooting for something better for Skywest. A rising tide raising all ships and all. Seems like they settled, though, which is unfortunate.

Why pay top dollar and encourage that many more lifers clogging up the captain seats??? Take a few bucks less and move right on up and out. Look at our list, 1/4th at least are lifers. Not good for guys needing that upgrade to start the interview clock, especially the ones not interested in having to sit reserve in NYC.
