Many of my friends that went to the then "bottom feeders" of Mesa, Chautauqua, Commutair, Colgan ended up at majors far faster than those of us that went to the then "best regionals" at Comair, Continental Express (now ExpressJet) ASA, (same) and Mesaba. The better pay and benefits meant many more lifers and much slower upgrades then much bigger targets for bankruptcy era concessions. Hopefully everything about that era is in the past forever but we are already seeing several troubling signs in the economy, and who knows what that's going to mean for everyone.
So I have an offer for a class date at another regional but is also for late 2019. Maybe consider it?

I'd hang on to both. There's no need to say no thanks to either right away.

If you'd be cool flying for either airline, then you could head for whichever one could get you in first. Just be sure to tell the other one "thanks, but..." once you're about to start indoc somewhere.

I would be fine flying for both, but I really want to fly for Delta in the future and I feel Endeavor can lead me there

If you're young and unattached, go somewhere where you can get a line right away and live in base.

So how long a new hire can expect to hold a line? It seems the shortage is over for a while?

If you look at the first page of the Endeavor page there is a thread that was updated 2 days ago answering your questions About lines and junior fo. That wasn’t being catty just answering your question.

The shortage “isn’t over”. Endeavor and republic are just being flooded with applications because of pay. EVERYONE is applying here. Talk to anyone at Mesa and they’ll tell you how real the shortage is. Even AA wholly owns with a direct path flow to a major aren’t filling classes.

So it seems like a year or so to hold a line. I wonder if with the upcoming growth expected at Endeavor, reserve may change? I’ve heard that at Republic they are flooded but you can hold a line way before Endeavor can?

I wouldn't make decisions on what a company might do 8 months from now. This growth was supposed to have happened already.

I agree, since I’m 4-6 months from meeting ATP mins I can monitor every change, it might change? Who knows?

I'd bet that it will change. That's the name of the game! I wouldn't bet how, though.

Hang onto the offers that you have, and reassess as you get closer. Heck, you might like a different option even better once you get to that point.
