There was an article in USA TODAY this week about the effects of social media and the ‘mob effect’. No one waits for information anymore. They read and believe the first thing that comes out of the media’s mouth even though one of the things that you can get a dollar on for the sure win in this day and age is that in the media’s rush to be first the initial story is probably going to be lacking much factual data and often just dead wrong!
Best to wait until the book comes out if you want to be right. I just pretend i don't watch the news, folks cant wait to fill you in.

The FSDO has right of first refusal and must assign the candidate a DPE. they took a month in CLE to “go around the office and see if anyone can do it” before finally assigning me an examiner when I did mine. If the FSDO office is closed, they cant do that. Normal checkrides should be fine but people looking for CFI initial will have delays.

That must have changed in the last few years then. That’s good to know! I always thought it was kinda weird but put it off on the FAA wanting to have the final say in who was teaching and doing stuff like flight reviews.

It just makes sense! Honestly, we’re all happy about it!
