Someone years ago compared tv news to popularity in teenagers with gossip. It's not important that gossip is true, just that it flows. What is true, is that the same people that are news watchers and news followers are the same gossip crowd, just older.

Best to wait until the book comes out if you want to be right. I just pretend i don't watch the news, folks cant wait to fill you in.

We no longer have to go to the FSDO for CFI Initial. We can go with any DPE that’s authorized to conduct that checkride.

That must have changed in the last few years then. That’s good to know! I always thought it was kinda weird but put it off on the FAA wanting to have the final say in who was teaching and doing stuff like flight reviews.
