I think it would have been touted as an enhancement if they were going to add it back. The absence of any lavs on the seat map in the articles tells me they might still be evaluating it.

I remember way back in the early 2000s when the a380 was still in design phase seeing drawings for like stores and shopping inside a 380. I don’t think united will want passengers wandering around the cabin, congregating in the aisles to get a Coke at a self serve station. The average passenger will treat it like boarding and just snack station lice and crowd. How is one to get back to their seat when there’s 30 people behind them in the aisle? I don’t see it being implemented. That sounds like a insurance risk if turbulence hits or some passenger overnserves themselves alcohol. But hey I could be wrong.

You are wrong. There is a sign above all their heads that tell them to fasten their seatbelts, there a several announcements, and all passengers agree to the regulations requiring them to adhere to crew member instructions when they buy a ticket. The only case I know of where passengers sued over turbulence was a Colgan flight and the passengers lost.

This article mentions DL as the launch customer... others point to UA. Interesting, but probably just wrong.
This article says GoJet will be operating the CRJ550 for UA.

Let me be the first to prematurely congratulate SkyWest on receiving a huge order of these new aircraft for the Delta Connection portfolio.
“The new CRJ550 model is the only solution in North America that can replace the existing fleet of ageing 50-seaters, a market of over 700 aircraft”, Fred Cromer, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft president is quoted in a statement. The reason why the company stresses the US market is the fact that CRJ550 already has a launch customer there − Delta Airlines.
