Log book question.

Thoughts on logging PIC for CA IOE?
Yes or no?
I was leaning towards no because of not being signed off yet.
At this point it doesn't really matter to me as I'm just doing some log book house keeping. Meaning I haven't updated my log book for over 3 years...yikes!

If you’re not the PIC, it’s not advisable to use the “sole manipulator” clause to log PIC......if you could log it during CA IOE, why not log every leg you were the sole manipulator of the controls as FO while you were type rated?

That's kinda on the lines of what I was thinking. Just curious if some might argue that since you passed the sim evaluation and sitting left seat that it was ok to check that box. At this point I couldn't care less about 25 hrs in my book.

You are not the PIC, the check airman is until you have passed your line check and have completed OE. The check airman is legally the PIC and the only one allowed to log PIC time

One person signs as PIC. Pretty straightforward.

Absolutely not. You aren’t PIC until signed off of OE.

Except

If you are already rated, I believe you can log it as PIC. I do not have the reference of the FAR.
