Thanks guys. I’m about a 20 min drive from Daytona beach airport and I know they operate multiple flights to ATL a day so that’s why I was thinking it would be the easiest. Or I’m an hour drive from MCO and plenty more options there. Realistically out of training I expect to be in New York area for some time on reserve.
Sorry OP for getting a little off topic, if any of you have more input for me please feel free to PM. Thanks!

between regional jets, who cares what you're flying? It's not like we're talking a difference between a 717 and a 777. There are many valid reasons to not come to Endeavor right now, but the 200 isn't one of them.

While that's true, the 900 has better lines, more pay, and a lighter workload.

If you will be disappointed by the 200 I would not come here. If my memory serves me, we have 36 spots open on the 200 and 24 on the 900. On the late published seniority list, both of the last two classes were assigned the 200. The schedules will be far worse than the 900, and you’ll be stuck on it for about 20-24 months.

I was under the impression they were going to be filling positions for the 900 since the new planes that are coming are 700/900. And the 200 pilots are seat locked for 2 years. A friend of mine recently hired said their whole class was pretty much assigned to the 900.

Also, a word of advice, don't get your advice from a new hire even if it's a friend. Seek out important career advice from someone more senior and not from an anonymous online message board. Does your CFI have any friends who have been at Endeavor over a year? Hell, talk to your friend's pilot mentor at Endeavor. I'm sure they'd be happy to talk to you. Don't get your information from recruiters. They are still telling new hires our upgrade time is 18 months… Bottom line: Your friend doesn't know what he doesn't know.

Like someone pointed out earlier, in the last four years upgrade times have gone from 3 years, to 1.5 years, to street captains, to 3.5 years. Things change fast at this level

A lot of mainline pilots live in FL so the commute to ATL can be pretty brutal, especially trying to get home without the ability to positive space. NYC would be an easier commute but you’re going to be stuck on reserve for quite a while. We currently have the number of pilots to staff the growth coming because we barely have anyone in the training pipeline. Hiring is only at 30 a month going forward (about the same as attrition) compared to 50 a month two years ago before the growth. If you want to upgrade don’t come here, upgrade is just over 3 years currently and a lot of people are waiting their turn in line. I would go to Republic if I were you, take the quick upgrade and get out.
Reserve times WILL absolutely go down here. Last time we were hiring 40 a month reserve times were inside of 90 days in NYC. 5-6 months might be a reasonable bet on reserve here, assuming those new hires get spread out. If 30 a month go to NYC and there's 90 reserve FO's the math checks out.
And last I heard, upgrade at RAH was around the 3 years mark too. Unless that's come down recently.
