Potentially displaced captains might want to know where they stand in line for vacancies. Between displacements and the 20-01/20-02 vacancy cancellations, everyone else will obviously slide down the list.

This list includes FOs, the bottom 40 NYC 200 captains, and the bottom 24 NYC 900 captains.

I expect fewer senior FOs to bypass now that the music has stopped, so I'm drawing the cutoff line at 2014 again.
  • These counts are based on the 6/30/2020 ISL.
  • "Pilots ahead of you" means FOs and potentially displaced CAs from classes ahead of you. It doesn't include people in your class.
  • PHTs and FTIs are included. They might upgrade. They might not.
  • FOs hired before 2014 are not included. If you were hired before 2014 and are planning to upgrade... I had to draw a line somewhere. No offense intended.
  • Pilots hired less than 24 months ago are not included. I had to draw a line somewhere. No offense intended.
  • I have no idea when any of these folks are going to upgrade. Want to speculate wildly? Be my guest. Please don't ask me. Voluntary displacements likely will make any speculation much wilder.

Good luck, everyone.
Sorry to hijack but does this mean the displacements will now lead to furloughs? Thanks.

there are no furloughs associated with the realignment. (Not a displacement because there are equal amount of vacancies as there are reductions)

DG has already stated furloughs are not planned at this time. Of course things can always change.

No. Barring major changes, we should be over 90% pre-covid capacity in August and all but 40 of the original 119 planes that were parked will be back in service by the end of July.

The company also said that they anticipate needing every single pilot that was on property pre-covid, back on property by next summer. Which likely precludes the additional cost furloughs with entail.

And SUPPOSEDLY, we have started to recall those new hires that were in Sim training to get them back in to finish

It is also worth nothing that new hires are starting to be recalled to the school house. As of now, Delta plans to prop up EDV and operate them at near full capacity if they can handle it. No furloughs at this time.

Wait, why did the number of people ahead of me double? Upgrade award cancellations?

That's part of it. The 64 captains getting displaced also are on the list, as they're shooting for captain positions during 20-03.

Remember that this is a good tool but the best way to figure this out for yourself is to download the Excel version of the ISL and do a little math.

There are 124 displacements
64 CA's
60 FO's

Count up from the bottom of each list and see who the most senior displacement is. If you're senior to him/her you are GENERALLY safe from losing your seat. This changes dramatically with every person that takes a voluntary displacement.

You can then look at your seat in base and see how many junior to you, that's how many senior pilots would have to come over to bump you out.

Don't forget that the vacancies listed are added positions, so that might help you ATL and DTW guys hold your seats.

This is all just ballparking. But please email your rep with specific questions.

Also, as the union said, just because you get bumped off the bottom of the list in your seat does not necessarily mean you will get sent somewhere else. The company might elect to just keep you there and be overstaffed. Especially with FO's in DTW and ATL.

Default 20-03 final update

Updated for the 20-03 final award. Why are these numbers so different? Because most of the displaced captains who were on the initial list are still captains. I'll figure out a better way to do this next time... because, unfortunately, next time will be soon.
  • These counts are based on the 6/30/2020 ISL and the 20-03 final award rev.0.
  • "Pilots ahead of you" means FOs ahead of you. It doesn't include people in your class.
  • PHTs and FTIs are included. They might upgrade. They might not.
  • FOs hired before 2014 are not included. If you were hired before 2014 and are planning to upgrade... I had to draw a line somewhere. No offense intended.

Default 20-04 realignment

I'm not going to post a new list now, because it's unlikely we're looking at many upgrades this round. My guesses:
  • Some displaced 200 CAs go to DTW or ATL to stay (relatively) senior.
  • Other displaced 200 CAs move to 900 CA across the system.
  • Displaced 900 CAs either take the leftover 200 CA slots in DTW/ATL or downgrade on the 900 if they live in their base and are chasing QOL. The definition of a junior captain usually includes "not chasing QOL", so I don't anticipate many downgrades.
  • Without downgrades, there are no vacant slots left for upgrades for most FOs.
But those are guesses. What are your guesses? Or... if you're a junior NYC CA (200 or 900) looking at displacement, do you downgrade in NYC or take a captain slot in DTW or ATL?

Here's another prediction. This will downgrade every street Captain.
