The Beauty and the Beast
We've all seen the Disney show, "The Beauty and the Beast". Take these concepts and apply it to the 121 world, and what do you get; A happy ending or a tragedy? For us, the Beauty is Delta, and the Beast is Endeavor. What did the Beast continue to do? He pursued the Beauty and lived happily ever after. Unfortunately, reality is different. Quit pursuing Delta, and look at other opportunities. Look into the LCC's, heck, even Kalitta is better than staying in the right seat. The point is, Delta is not the end all be all. Folks seems to forget Delta was bankrupt 10 years ago. Somehow, history has a way of repeating itself.

I got tired and gave up telling my FO's that there are other options besides Delta. Of course when we have easily 400 sitting at the top of our list content to retire here, it's a bit tougher argument especially considering what all of them went through here. Sad to see so many FO's here willing to hitch their entire career on a loaded die roll at Delta.

I really hope that anyone wanting to get out of Endeavor is applying at LLC’s and other majors. American keeps their regional staffed with the flow carrot. Delta keeps Endeavor staffed by taking a low percentage from Endeavor.

We've had quite a few of people leave for both United and Spirit. Heck one class at United this spring had 7 9E pilots. We've also had some indeed go to SWA, yes, they have slowed but not stopped hiring because of the MAX, but that should be back in the air finally by the end of the year and supposedly SWA just started construction on expanding the training center they just finished building. There are other options that, yes may not be where you want to finish your career like Allegiant and Frontier, but they are a step up and make getting to the final destination easier. I have a saying, If you don't ask, the answer is always no. That also goes for job hunting, if you don't apply, you won't be hired.

I'd imagine that will change in the next 5 years with all the projected retirements from delta. But then again delta will have to at least stay close to what they say they will hire for the year... Unlike the past 2 years.
