Default Campus Vs MSP Interview

Hi Everyone

Can anyone provide insight on what the differences might be with interviewing on campus with the STEP program or coming up to minneapolis to do the interview?

I attend one of the partner universities. If anyone can give me tips on the interview in general too that would be great!

I'm not familiar with how the interviews go on campuses, but I imagine they are the same. Talking about your training and combing through logbooks, scenario type questions and the technical portion briefing an approach and weather. Study some jet stuff to be prepared!

Do they have recruiters come on campus that you could ask?

The HR rep they started sending to my school is not helpful at all. She doesn't seem to know much about anything lol. I will try calling the recruitment hotline number though.

Any other advice people have, or if anyone has an idea on what route for interviewing would be better I'd love to hear it.

Campus interview will consist of a few technical questions, standard HR "STAR" method questions (Tell me about a time you...), and review of your logbooks. Make sure you have everything in order.

If you receive a CJO on campus, you'll be flown to MSP to complete paperwork and drug test.

Doing the interview at EDV HDQ will be all of the above, as well as a morning presentation talking about the job and company, but in one day (plus they will give you lunch if you're scheduled for a late morning interview).

Either way, you can't go wrong interviewing here. Good luck and have fun!

Voice of reason is basically spot on. The only thing I'll add is that the on site interviews at the step schools tend to go a little smoother. Mostly because you're much more relaxed in your home environment. Also, you usually are interviewing with people you've met before at various step events. That being said, I've heard stories of applicants being so relaxed they didn't bother bringing logbooks. Take it seriously. You'll be fine

Good luck.

Tab all check rides and failures
Total up your instrument time in the last 12 months
Make sure every page is signed in ink.
Bring a copy of your resume for the recruiters to look at
Know roughly when you expect to hit your atp mins

And finally... "Tell me about a time", means tell me about a SPECIFIC time. "What I usually do" and "what I would do" are not what they're looking for. Take your time, there are no bonus points for fast. It's ok to think about it.
