Has anyone been testing the new iPads or heard anyone that is? I know they had a EFB Test Team for the current ones we have.

The EFB dept has a cellular iPad of our current generation that they’ve used to test out new features (ownship on charts, inflight Wx, etc) jumpseating since at least the summer. No idea if they have a newer device yet.
I’d wager the base chiefs will be the initial testers of any new physical device followed by volunteer beta testers… keep an eye on that email Q1

I was told that we will no longer be able to own our own iPads once the next generation is here. Something about some Delta proprietary software that we are getting

Well, we already use proprietary software and its not an issue; the problem with self-ownership is having cellular on the next generation. If you’re on your personal cellular iPad plan you may not have service at all the stations we go to, could run out of data during the month, it just creates a new lot of possible issues that are avoided by a company device and company cellular plan.
