Welcome to the team, Zero. You're joining at a great time.

I have good intel that says a new announcement regarding additional 900s is coming soon (not the 200s the OP alluded to). My contact also mentioned that DLCX is very interested in the smaller MRJ. Mitsubishi reps have been in ATL and MSP meeting with senior leadership. Contemplating a replacement for aging 900s in 3+ years. I definitely did not see that coming.

I have been saying this for the past year. I think Delta will want the MRJ’s to replace our 700s and eventually the 900s that will need retiring. CRJ production ends in 2020 and seeing as Delta likes different fleets, the MRJ is a perfect replacement. Full production of the scope compliment Spacejet M100 is suppose to hit production in 2023 but we will see if that actually happens on time or not.

Pardon if this brings up a touchy subject, but do you think 9E will merge the 200 and 900 flying? It seems to be more effecient to operate like PSA and Skywest and fly both. Its the same type rating

No. Too much money and time to send all the 700/900 pilots to 200 training at this point.

Maybe they meant to say more 900s? Rumor has it we are officially getting GoJet's 7 900s as well.

Nope! It all goes back to Mesaba days when the Msp FSDO was against the fleet combination.

“No, we have always done it like this”

Don't disagree with that. I am sure Delta will get a deal on them just like the C-Series. The M100 is not selling in the US so a deal from Delta would be great for the program!

Also it would reduce required staffing.

As a pilot who's job depends on staffing, I'm not for changing the status quo because "we don't want to cling to old ways."

Our contract says line pilots can only be typed on one, if they want to renegotiate, cool. I think they've tried in the past and the union "wants too much" for the efficency that would grant the company.

It's not about clinging to the old ways, it's about not giving up stuff just to give it up.
