Do yourself a favor and go to commute air or Envoy do you get a direct slow to the majors. You can always reapply to Delta later from those carries if you like. Lots of poaching going on. Endeavor used to be good in the first 4 years but the last 2 years have been with bad middle and lower management.

I think it's just all perspective. If all you've known is good times, small inconveniences sting more.
I fly with a not insignificant amount of FO's who are mad they can't upgrade at 3 years in the base of their choice on the aircraft of their choice because their friend at XYZ upgraded already. Then I remind them that most of my friends are decent line holders at Delta, AA, FedEx, etc. And I'm about 5 years behind them because of bad luck, bad timing, and bad decisions on my part.
it's kind of funny. That guy who spammed all the boards with the same question about dropping trips. It was interesting reading the responses from the other regionals before the mods deleted all of them. Just from a quick read it seems like we are one of the only regionals at even has the realistic capability to drop trips at all. PSA is the obvious exception. But they were guys at skywest and others who said they've never successfully dropped a trip once in their entire career. I usually drop about 1 a month or at least a partial.
It's not that bad here. Some would even say it's *gasp* good here.
