Default 200 FO living in CVG - ATL or NYC?

Both are commuting scenarios - what gives me best QOL given crashpad situation, reserve situation, etc.

Thank you!

NYC. Should be able to get CVG as they ramp up.

Disclaimer, I have never commuted from CVG. Just some infrequent non-revving. That said, from a general standpoint:
  • if you commute to NYC, a lot (all?) of Delta’s CVG-NYC flights are on our metal. Makes commuting easier than on Delta mainline to ATL
  • Hotels are obviously much cheaper in ATL, but ATL also has hotel-run crashpad setups that can be better than some of the crashpad scenarios so frequently lamented in nyc
  • The 200 in NYC is more junior than ATL 200. Don’t have the time right now to look up junior lineholders.

Have you considered DTW? Also our metal, cheap crashpads. Once you have a line, you could drive that. Also as Jules said, hopefully you could bid over to the 900 CVG relatively quickly. Not sure exactly how seat locks will be handled in the upcoming vacancies.

My uneducated guess is that they won't be waiving seat locks anymore after cvg opens. We're probably going to be real tight on sim space and waiving seat locks won't help

The FO seat lock will only be waived when contractually REQUIRED to be waived. Contractually it must be waived to allow any FO (who was hired previous to the CVG base being available to bid) to be able to bid for a new base option that is only available on another aircraft. Anyone hired today on the 200 will be able to bid for the 900 in CVG in 18 months.

That's correct, but once upon a time they were waiving them voluntarily when they needed movement but didn't have the people. They did that every vacancy for the first year of my time here.
