Tell them to fill out issue forms on each occurrence.

You can go home on weekends during ground school. Some do, some use that time for studying. Sims are trickier because of dynamic scheduling, but basically the way it would work is this.

You go home on a day off, the day before you're scheduled go begin again you check the schedule every 4 hours or so to see if you've been scheduled. If you so, you get like 14ish hours to get to base for your activity (I think). But if you're not scheduled you can stay home. If you're already in the middle of a stretch and not getting scheduled I'm not 100% what your options are, but I would probably go home since you still get that 14ish hours of notice before each activity, and you are not required to accept short notice assignments.

Take advantage of the grocery delivery service while you're in training in MSP. You get billed for the groceries of course, but it was amazing having hotel staff pick the stuff up for you and not be charged any sort of delivery service fee.

...sorta. I think 3.Q in your contract gives you the breakdown.
