Released for April

So NY 200 guys are on vacation for April. I do believe this is appropriate to avoid the area. For those of you (900) guys who are still in and out of NY, stay safe.

I wonder what the Union's response will be.

Same as any other day.

Unprecedented times, changes, each day is new, thanks for your hard work, we are in this together. No involuntary furloughs or reductions (fine print saying that's not true yet)

Unless you have already pre-assigned flying. It appears you still have to fly those legs if you were given in some form of a build up line (obviously out of base)

UPDATE from our Union Email:

NYC 200 and 900 lineholders who have trips originating out of LGA will have their flying cancelled and are not obliged to report.
NYC 200 lineholders who have trips originating out of JFK will have their flying cancelled and are not obliged to report.
NYC 900 lineholders who have trips originating out of JFK are only obliged to report if operating legs remain on their schedule. In addition, if you check your schedule 24 hours prior to an AVL period that occurs prior to an operating leg, and your schedule still shows only AVL, you are not required to report for the AVL period; you must only report for the operating leg, but you must remain contactable during your AVL period. If you have AVL after you complete your operating legs, you must check CrewTrac for further assignments. If no assignment appears in CrewTrac at the completion of your last operating leg of the trip, you are released and may return home.
NYC 200 reserves will not be required to report for reserve duty due to the cancellation of all CRJ-200 flying out of NYC.
NYC 900 reserves will be reduced. ALPA and the Company have agreed that the Company will reduce the number of reserves required to report for the remainder of April. We have further agreed that this will be accomplished by the Company removing reserve day sequences from pilot schedules, with the goal of equitably removing approximately the same number of days from all reserve pilots. In addition, P1 and P2 pilots will have a common contact period in order to further reduce the total number of pilots required to be on reserve. P2 pilots who originally had a later start time than the new contact period on day one of a reserve sequence will retain their original P2 start time on day one. Auto-release on the last day of a sequence of reserve will likewise be based on the original P1 or P2 award.
None of these changes will impact pilot pay. Reserve pilots remain eligible for the minimum monthly guarantee, and all flight cancellations are protected to Section 3.N. The elimination of the requirement to sit AVL will likewise not impact pilot pay. These changes are being made to limit pilot exposure to COVID-19, and we believe this arrangement is in the best interest of the Company and the pilot group given the unprecedented circumstances we are facing.

Mainline guy here....

So the 200/900 folks that just had all their flying for April cancelled...are they still getting paid the value of those trips?

Yes, they are pay protected, also, some of them still have flying on their schedule that deadheads out of base, that they still have to fly. The 900 is also doing a limited number of JFK flights.

Long call should be interesting. Most of us NY guys are commuters and we will be doing it from home. Reduced flights to get to wherever they might add flying onto us from. I'm guessing there won't be much to assign. I know if they try to give me 12 hours notice from the west coast I'm not likely to make it.

TDY isn't a bad gig but very few spots and I assume they will go senior. That being said I know most guys don't know how to bid for a reserve line. It should be interesting.
