The guy flew for Chautauqua, back when the regionals were a fire dumpster. Last few years have been good, however, the industry may return to being a fire dumpster. Depending how bad it gets, I may explore other avenues.

So a guy writes a blog about how terrible his airline career was and blabs on about his justifications for leaving. If you want to use that as a reason to leave ,there is no one stopping you.

Have you lived through the bad? The $19 per hour sitting ready reserve everyday? I was implying things are good now. Times used to be sour and those conditions may return sooner rather than later. If they do, I may explore other avenues.

This career isn’t worth $19,000 per year.

Until the bankruptcy judge says otherwise. But yes we do and we need to stay strong against any voluntarily concessions.

I am not understanding this woe is me posting you are doing in multiple threads. Do you think your job would be as secure from this world-wide event in any other industry? Welcome to a free economy and adulthood. Your time would be better spend doing anything else productive, because , constantly posting on here about the end of days is certainly not.

I doubt we will be the only ones in the bankruptcy boat. Multiple industries are going to be destroyed if the economy continues to collapse. It's hard to justify a straight pay decrease, even in bankruptcy.

Huh? There’s a few industries that are recession proof. One being the medical field.

Nope.

All the laid-off and furloughed employees of the Mayo Clinic system, among others, would disagree with you.

link

(and before you poo-poo a paper you've never heard of, this is the Rochester MN paper - the paper of the city where Mayo started and is headquartered)
