Default Air National Guard-Non Rated ALO

I hope nobody needs to look for other work but if you are young and fit you may want to check this and that is all I am saying just something to look into. Basically you work with the Army calling in air strikes for close air support. (CAS) The AF used to want rated pilots doing this but it was opened to non-rated pilots. It is much more difficult now then when I was in which is why I say young and fit. With an aviation background it may help you in this field and something to do until the aviation industry improves. You are also under state control in the Guard so it is a little easier to turn down things. For any former military crewmember you can still receive flight pay in this position and not as difficult to meet minimum qualification requirements like you are required to as a pilot or crewmember. There are only 4 or 5 Guard units doing this mission as I recall. Peoria IL is one and I think Jackson MS is another. (800) 864-6264 800 togoang

Absolutely, without a doubt the worst job in the Air Force. Stationed on a crappy Army base, playing Army, deploying with the Army, getting shot at in some crap-hole country while living in a Humvee at some remote base.

Mil recruiter? I was a former Endeavor pilot and was also in the Guard but had absolutely nothing to do with recruiting. You are more then welcome to your opinions. I was not aware of the ground FAC career field until later on in my career which is why I presented it here as merely an option or consideration and nothing more. I also do not think working at regionals would make anyone weak nor interested in trading insults and BTW in the Guard you are not stationed at an Army base.
I do hope for the best for everyone at Endeavor!

sadly the ones ripping are the ones who served I’m guessing or the ones who would spit on a soldier returning from deployment

I did a similar gig at one point and had a blast. It was SOF and Navy, so not much leg army interaction but we did work with airborne and rangers occasionally. Overall a pretty good gig, small teams, independent ops, fresh air and sunshine. Guard environment seems like a huge plus.
