Yup no problem...I'll be supplying a marker or black tape....they have a problem with that...they are gone!

This place is such an entertaining read... But sometimes I can't help myself. If someone earns the CA title, why shouldn't they be allowed to keep it if involuntarily downgraded in the same type? It doesn't change or challenge the PIC authority nor impact safety of flight. Isn't the title something that person has earned for that airframe and should be allowed to keep? Personally, I wouldn't do it, especially if I kept the same pay rate. But I certainly wouldn't begrudge someone who did. The Uniform Guide and FOM are silent on whether a downgraded CA is or is not allowed to wear their CA bars in the right seat, so it would be hard to kick someone out of the flight deck on the basis of those two documents, and I have yet to see a policy statement of any kind prohibiting it. So if it's not prohibited, doesn't impact the operation aside from slighting an overblown ego, and doesn't hurt anyone... What's the big deal? It's Endeavor Air's flight deck, and if they didn't want it occurring, they would say so via policy/memo/manual.

Oh yes this place is very entertaining......do you understand at all in the 121 world there is only one god damn captain per the FAA. Should we allow the FA to wear 4 stripes as well....hell if we are going down this idiotic road...should we allow the pax to get in on this also and wear 4 stripes.. get out of here with your snowflake embry riddle BS attitude.

Not saying a hypothetically downgraded captain should show up with their former 4 bars, but to be devils advocate - do you remove deadheading / nonrev captains from your airplane if they show up with 4 stripes? When you’re receiving a line check do they get the boot? New captain upgrades on OE throw their LCA off? ;)
There’s numerous scenarios where more than one person onboard has a 4th stripe and it hasn’t caused the operation to implode so far. I think you give the general public and even GAs far too much credit on who’s wearing which stripes.

You and Rayjay are just amazing. I'm also a captain here and would not care if a downgraded fo continued to where his stripes. Whatever. Now if he has a major right seat captain attitude that's a whole other thing. But I've never seen someone get so worked up about what someone is wearing. I'm way more concerned with the 3 stripe wearing FO's that throw an attitude.... Actually.... I'm more concerned about the angry bitter captains that make an environment so hostile that the FO is afraid to speak up when the captain makes a mistake.

if the FO makes a mistake they are out of THEIR cockpit. I thought Rayjay couldn’t be topped. Those dingleberries are what is wrong with the airlines. If they want to flex like that I will voluntarily not walk on the plane. They can explain why their hostile work environment is keeping the flight from leaving on time.

I’d love to see these downgraded CA’s
tell a mainline interview panel about why they will wear their 4 stripes after downgrade.

Meow1215 06-05-2020 08:25 PM

Wear what you want

I must be the minority on this, but who cares what uniform a downgrade wears? I’ve had 3 people in CA stripes on the FD before, I was the only one signing the release as CA.

I really could care less what uniform my FO wears as long as he/she is at least dressed like a pilot and are not going to cause me issues. If anyone is that insecure about your authority that you need to act as the uniform police - you have other underlying issues to deal with.

So are we saying that we are going to throw a giant adult hissy fit if a downgraded CA shows up as an FO with 4 stripes on their jacket because they haven’t had the 4th stripe removed at the tailor yet?

What if they don’t get their jacket re-tailored because they just had their income slashed but they do wear three stripes on the shoulders? What level of fit would that produce?

With all of the 2020 going on this is what we are arguing about, amazing.
