Yes, and the standard current for USB 2.0 and prior is .5A, not enough to charge an iPad. I flew a Pro Line 21 aircraft in a past life, and the port for the data loader specifically prohibited using it for charging devices.

Yes, I know the company is supposed to issue them. But there is other priorities right now. Just block out 10 early on your next 3 legs and buy one on amazon.
I’ve been here over two years and over 1000 hours later never needed an external battery for my iPad.

Exact same situation and exact same thoughts. Using a reasonable brightness setting, and locking when not in use does the trick. I do keep an external with me for my laptop and phone in case they need it, have never been concerned about the iPad
