Seriously, especially after the conference call, it's clear Delta is happy to shrink us and won't be giving any contract improvements for 2-3 years. Go elsewhere, do not come here. You will get far better pay and QOL elsewhere.

I think there are two places with better QoL and 3 with better pay. But word on the street is that they have stopped calling people with minimum qualifications. I say come here if you can't get AA. NYC sucks but it's not the worst thing in the world. It's just a junior base. You can get out of there soon enough.

On a shrinking airline with the latest vacancy having 85% of the CA slots and all FO slots going to NYC? Doubtful you'll get out of that place any time soon... Know the risks, avoid airlines that have publicly said they are shrinking and not going to do anything to improve the contract.
I also have a CJO with OO, 28 days later on the ERJ and MSP is pretty junior there. Sounds like 2-3 month wait to hold a line. At this point I think the QOL might be worth the worse pay *shrug*. Should have applied to AA WO a long time ago....

My objective would be to get MSP. That's the best commute for me, 1 leg. NY would be a horrendous two leg. But I've been told to avoid MSP like the plague at EDV, long reserve and no flying. This true?

The most junior line holder in MSP on the 900 for August is a Sep 21 hire, and most junior on reserve is a Jan 22 hire. I couldn’t imagine doing a 2 leg commute to our garbage non-commutable lines with min days off. Can you get to any Republic bases? They seem to have a pretty good contract with regards to QOL.

Question for the APC brain trust, dare I call it that.
I am a pilot with about 1700 total time. Been flying a variety of corporate and other 91 jobs the last several years. Prior to becoming a pilot I was employed in a non-pilot role at a now-defunct regional, as well as a legacy carrier. I'm no expert but I've been paying attention.
Atlanta is the most convenient crew base for me. Any other crew base would be a commute.
I've seen and heard from pilots across the board say living in base (i.e., not commuting) beats everything. Lots of doom and gloom in here, much like there has been for the past 10 years at any other regional that wasn't top of the mountain. A lot of it, arguably bogus, a lot of it arguably well founded.
If location is really the big thing, why shouldn't I come here? In spite of all the problems, why should I?
Would really appreciate some answers beyond "ship is sinking get off".
Thanks for your time.

Seems every trip I fly it it worse than the last and with this latest announcement it’s definitely not going to get better. Why would someone go into a burning hotel and ask for a room! Trust me stay far away from this place because it’s going down.

If the place goes tits up theres tons of sympathy for furloughs/layoffs if the company tanks. You wouldnt believe how many ex comair guys ive run across at delta of all places.
I Dont work there anymore so listen to the locals. Recession is a coming, make sure youve got some savings if ur hoping jobs.
