Oooff, JG didn't fill me with confidence in that podcast. I heard no evidence that he has adjusted his thinking or is in any way in step with the realities of the regional industry in the world post-AAG deal. I know that the Delta management structure is big and ponderous, but I think this one is going to cost them. I can't see attrition going below 100 any time soon, and I think recruitment will take a beating starting in the second half of July.
What I heard was a yappy little puppy who wouldn't shut the hell up. NJ overstepped the established boundaries between union and management. Why our elected representatives have not disciplined him yet is beyond me.

I hope you're kidding. Say we do call it that NJ over stepped..that's what the pilot group wanted. If he doesn't do that and get the ball rolling on something fast this place is in a lot of trouble. First it was -74 in June. July it could be -85 August could hit triple digits. NJ did what needed to be done by forcing their hand and for that I applaud him.

You need to recognize 9E's relationship with management i.e. our contract, is a legal one and negotiations here are not the purview of a single pilot.

ALPA is not driving the ship here. Market forces are. It's 9E's and Delta managements' job to respond to those forces. It's not NJs job to save the world or us or to set up negotiations without our ALPA attorneys and our negotiation committee members being present.

Have you reached out to NJ to voice your concerns or have you contacted your rep? You make a point for sure, but what are you doing about it other than complaining on APC?

please enlighten us all to exactly what these “established boundaries” are. I really want to know as I thought NJ was on point.

NJ should be filling a grievance instead of having meetings with his buddies on a subject he has no jurisdiction over. Nothing he says will change your future, but by wasting time and by not taking the only action he can legally take, he is delaying our relief from management's willful abuse of our contract.
But don't believe me. Call an ALPA attorney and ask her. She'll tell you the same.
And before you jump in and say, wait, the problem is lack of pilots. I'd say, "It's management's problem, not ours. ALPA dosen't hire pilots. Why should we use any of our resources to solve their problem."
This is not rocket science, guys. File a grievance and move on.

I called my captain rep once. He never returned my call. I solved the issue myself so..., I guess the money ALPA takes from my paycheck is working out for me.
