Default CEO does not inspire confidence.

Oooff, JG didn't fill me with confidence in that podcast. I heard no evidence that he has adjusted his thinking or is in any way in step with the realities of the regional industry in the world post-AAG deal. I know that the Delta management structure is big and ponderous, but I think this one is going to cost them. I can't see attrition going below 100 any time soon, and I think recruitment will take a beating starting in the second half of July.

“We can accelerate flow and OTS hires once we have lateral attrition under control.”

I don’t think that’s how it is going to work. I don’t think that’s how any of this works! CAs and CA qualified FOs are looking to go anywhere that isn’t a regional before the music stops. Delta has put themselves at the bottom of the list of possibilities.

Delta can’t stop or reduce attrition. They have only managed to direct it elsewhere.

Agreed. You're going to have to do something and see if it works.

Can they really be that disconnected? Maybe they're just trying to convince the pilot group it's lateral. Can't imagine someone running an airline doesn't know better.

They are that disconnected. He said at one point "Lateral being anywhere that isn't Delta, so your United, American, FedEx, UPS..."

Yup I heard that too during the last 7 min of the podcast. He just went from saying LCC is a lateral move to the other legacies that aren't delta...

The whole thing sounded like NJ was interviewing a politician.

Looks like NJ already contacted JA to set up a meeting. If he didn't do it then no one would.
