A staple is a merger where the RJ's would be added to the mainline fleet. Since the next Delta AE will probably once again have over 1000 unfilled slots, you can imagine the staffing problem created by an entire pilot group(CRJ) bidding off a single fleet.

They don’t have to be fully Staffed… Oh by the way to the person who started this doomsday POST, Endeavor isn’t going anywhere! Things change in our industry, good and bad! It is what it is but DALPA wants our flying back in house and Management wants more flexibility and and less scope.. Let’s start with Endeavor flying! I predict less than a year from now a Deal will be struck putting END pilots on the DAL seniority list… Coolaid? Nah, just supply and Demand which drives everything and motivates share holders… Money won’t do it but I’ll take it if they want to continue down that road!! As far as leaving because hiring hasn’t been this good? It’s not always greener on the other side. Ask someone who went to Delta, AA etc and found themselves on the unemployment line while those regional pilot were unaffected.. It’s different for everyone and there’s no wrong choice which way someone decides to go!! Good Luck and be happy with your choices!!!

Isn’t that where the fence part comes in? Agree to allow only some smaller amount of pilots to bid off the CRJ every month - somewhere between 20 (current flow) and 80-100(attrition). Delta is hiring 150-200 per month, some of those would be trained on the CRJ, freeing up room for EDV pilots to train for other aircraft.

No, because fences can't apply to unfilled new hire slots. A fence would prevent a Delta pilot from taking a CRJ captain slot before an Endeavor pilot, and vice-versa from the date of the merger. This applies to a staple only, Delta could make the entire Endeavor list new hires, which is not a staple.

anything can be negotiated to make the deal work for all parties. First we need attrition to go in over drive and hiring to drop off.

I have a very hard time believing that ANY Delta/AA pilot said to themselves, you know I really shouldn’t have left that regional to come here! Lets come back down to earth please.

Just saying there are those who chose to do opposite of what you think they should do! I agree that leaving during the biggest hiring spree in Aviation history is a good gamble. But not everyone wants to make that leap!
