I dont think a staple is a solid expectation is all.
The Delta MEC chief, Jason Ambrosi, wrote an open letter to Delta MGT right after we got the retention demanding 9E be brought in house . Obviously Delta MGT was not like overjoyed at the thought and expense . However this letter was sent before the AA deal a few weeks back so now things have dramatically changed . If the Delta MEC and pilots are calling for it , then obviously there is a way to bring us on the 7’s/9’s to mainline and merge us in somehow . We can debate what the terminology would be , but it’s a very realistic scenario. I mean they have merged giant airlines together for decades and the mainlines used to fly all 70 to 90 seat jet flying anyway , so it wouldn’t be a big deal to merge 2000 9E pilots and other employees.

So to give you some background. Delta pilots want scope back, either give us the 50/50 back on wide bodies, or as much regional flying as we can steal back. We all know the wide body stuff is cheaper to give back and the regional flying will likely shrink, however, neither would happen without seeming earnest.

We have a scope deal finally, i dont know how much thats saber rattling and how much is earnest.

sounds good . Maybe they can figure it out . I’m sure you guys could use the pilots with the RJ’s . I know the pay rates would be higher on those airplanes, but not sure how many current mainline pilots would bid to fly them . But hope all works out for everyone

DL's plans have been accelerated. We're like the MD-88. They just want to extract as much value as possible until we're a worn out hull to send to the desert. From here they're just going to give us as much flying as we can take until the airline isn't worth operating anymore. Every pilot here owes it to themselves to get their app out and leave, even if they have an upcoming flow date or have to pay back the bonus. 9E is a trap. Get out while you can.

I would guess the RJs go to skypest. We got the widebody agreement we wanted. As i said i don't know what theyre going to do for edv. I dont think they can wait this long.

Get figured out what you want and a timeframe you want it by. Get serious about leaving, i wouldnt f around seeing if delta can pull this out of the fire in time.

Our flight attendants have a union, and they would push to unionize all Delta FAs. So no, no merger.

I’m sure if they got to become mainline with all the better things they would get, including much higher pay , profit sharing and boarding pay , they would gladly ditch the Union. No brainer . I am very pro Union , but in that case you’re talking a no brainer

THeres no merger because theres no merger. As much as delta would love to pay delta flight attendants the pittance the edv FAs get theres no trigger in flight attendants contract to push the union on them. But lets say they did. Thered be a vote like last time. The union would lose, like last time. This time they'd lose by 40 something thousand votes.

The EDV FAs, like nwa FAs, could push all they like- but no means no. Delta doesnt consider what implications there are for edv FAs because they are powerless in contractual strength.

But we arent merging. The only way to get around the pilots going with the birds is to shut down and end the operation known as edv, then move the planes delta owns to delta (or skypest). The only time you could probably do that is october, but it would be ugly. Since passengers seem to keep buying tickets with **** poor operations, this might be the time.

I would hope delta would just give us a contract and work in something to give you all seniority numbers but theres a lot of representation stuff to figure out.

Not really an open letter to Mgmt...it was a letter to the pilot group stating that he, along with EDV MEC Chair went to DL Mgmt to talk possible solutions.

If you got a buddy at mainline, have them look at the MEC Chair email dated 4 March for the full letter, but here is what he said about EDV and mainline:

"We again offered to engage on solutions that would better help solve the retention issue at Endeavor while bringing value to the Delta PWA rather than waste it on ineffective bonuses. Unfortunately, Delta management was not interested in engaging on possible solutions. Ultimately, the best way to ensure proper staffing for Delta’s regional flying is to bring those aircraft, and pilots, to the mainline."
