Endeavor to Delta

Everyone,

Endeavor to Delta sounds like an amazing opportunity. I have read every single article on the subject and how the hiring process goes. I understand that the contract says pilots will have to fly a minimum of 2 years in the left seat with Endeavor before upgrading to Delta. After about 5 years at Endeavor, you should be upgraded to Delta. If this is all true, why are there so many pilots complaining about EtD? Delta is an awesome company and I know Endeavor has their problems (which regional doesn't?) but I really think Delta is about to help this regional out. I will start applying to regionals soon and as of right now EtD seems like the best option.

Any opinions, ext. would be appreciated!

That's because It isn't all true. Currently Endeavor is not upgrading any pilots. They are instead downgrading pilots. The airline is shrinking, therefore less captains are needed. So upgrade is running approximately something like 7 years or more. So 7 years to upgrade, plus 2 years as a captain, means more like 9 years. A lot could happen in 9 years, like the program being terminated, since there is no guarantee in writing.

Delta will be hiring off the street, and you could go to some other airline, upgrade faster and be in a position to apply and get hired by Delta.

Well said. I was really at a loss for words when thinking of a reply to the OP. Nice work.
