200 CA in ATL or in DTW?

I am thinking Atlanta would still be way junior. And that's a terrible commute from DTW. I'd rather commute to NYC from DTW.
I'm guessing ATL. The most junior DTW900 captain will be about 12 years by July (as those with less time all hold CJO's at Delta) and I suspect this could cause guys to jump to DTW200 and bid top half of the list rather than bottom reserve on a shrinking position.

I've wondered this...what's going to happen to the CRJ heavy guys when and if the 900s shift to NYC and 200s backfill MSP and DTW.

They can't force us to move to another base right? I would happily sit reserve if it meant not commuting.

Of course they can. A realignment bid is a free for all where they reduce one base and build another. If you don't have the seniority to stay where you are, you go elsewhere.

When there are more pilots than there are vacancies then displacements happen. And you are entitled to your system seniority.

We endured 3 straight years of displacements/realignments. That's what the airline calls vacancy notices when times are bad.

"Realignment Notice 17-02, etc"

1-2 more 900's going to NY
From MSP and DTW won't affect that many CA's
