This. The last time I got an airplane that had the OOOI times in the can I spent 5 minutes looking for when ACARS was written up and signed off again.

Maybe I'm a wet blanket.

Probably also spins the altitude selector to zero and puts the squawk to 1200 every time

Hey now, I've cleaned up the MCP before I left the aircraft. Usually it's because I got bored waiting for a gate in LGA.

"Just in case" was the response I got when I asked a very very senior CA. He was special.

I always laugh when I see 1200 in the transponder. Looks like someone took the CRJ for a few trips in the pattern and over to the pancake breakfast...
