That makes to me, from an EDV standpoint (two airframes staying in MSP). The wildcard in this equation is how many MD8's DL is putting in MSP, and what need will remain for a 900 there. My crystal ball is foggy within my own kingdom, but goes very dark when trying to forecast the other kingdom(s).

With XJT and DAL in NY, and all our 200s going to ATL or back to DTW/MSP, will they even need EDV 900s? Will they pull us out of NY altogether?
Also heard rumblings that MSP will lose all 900s with the MD8's going there from NY, and MSP will be 200s only.
Lots of change on the horizon, for sure.

Something tells me this isn't the only news coming out of HDQ this month. My guess is within the next couple weeks there will be something else...maybe it's more two-class shells moving over, maybe it's a revised DGI that gives SSPers another shot...I don't have a crystal ball, but I feel there's more to our story right now.

Are you the guy who thinks that pilots have any say in where airplanes go? Hopes and dreams don't move planes now anymore than it did when you got 9e 900s.

I agree with your post, and it's unfortunate that this has to happen. It's the continuous regional shift. Airplanes come and go, and we have zero control on their landing place. The only thing we can do is be considerate to other pilots at other regionals. I remember not too long ago our planes going elsewhere and it was the same exact reaction online. Throwing sardines to the barracudas. This is another example of ALPA failing regional pilots. The whipsaw will continue! 😤

Voice of reason didn't say he wanted this to happen, just that he sees this possibly happening. I do too. There has been little good news for the LASA for a long time. With this ATL base opening and short upgrade times for people with 121 time, the LASA side will probably see some ATL guys jump ship to EDV further hurting ASA. I feel for your pilot group but at this point I don't see ASA recovering from its current situation.

I know you must know that you guys were losing your planes before the decision was made to send a few to EDV. And since you were not able to fly in ATL anymore, the flying had to go somewhere. DL made that decision, as did SKW Inc., not EDV nor us pilots. Again, I know you know that, and I understand you are probably just venting, and that's fine. I have friends at XJT, and would do just about anything for them I could, except cause my own family to suffer.
EDV pilots have no say in where we go, the same as you. You had no say in giving up your planes. And I can tell you that talking to guys on the line, NO ONE has ever expressed joy over taking your planes or your flying. At the end of the day, each of us cares most about our own individual lives and futures, but that does NOT mean there isn't compassion for those that end up losing. I'm certain you felt bad for the Comair guys when they got the shaft. And so do pilots in every company outside of XJT. But... what can any of us do about it?
