We have just as many whiney pilots as FA's here that screw it up for everyone too. One hotel used to have a cold coke, diet coke and sprite in the room fridge when you checked in, and a bag of microwave popcorn. Well one of my FO's went ape that they didn't have Pepsi products and caused a scene at the front desk and told me to write up the hotel for BS stuff. I'm not sure what convinced him I wasn't going to, either my death stare or lecture about "don't complain about free stuff". Sure enough, a week later, hotel mgmt said "ok no cokes for anybody"

Long ago, as a rEAL pilot in NYC, I'm sitting in a crash pad when the phone rings. I answer and the guy on the other end is a new hire looking for a place. He had 2 questions, was there a spot available, and when taking a shower and someone in the building flushed a toilet, did the water temp change?

There is hundreds of them. So not very hard to find. Most people find them via word of mouth or from a friend of friend or poster in a crew lounge. Most of them are in the Kew Gardens neighborhood, its a safe area,it's pretty much exactly between LGA and JFK. They run usually about $200-$300 average. You can spend a lot more though depending on what you are looking for or if you have something specific in mind.
