We have just as many whiney pilots as FA's here that screw it up for everyone too. One hotel used to have a cold coke, diet coke and sprite in the room fridge when you checked in, and a bag of microwave popcorn. Well one of my FO's went ape that they didn't have Pepsi products and caused a scene at the front desk and told me to write up the hotel for BS stuff. I'm not sure what convinced him I wasn't going to, either my death stare or lecture about "don't complain about free stuff". Sure enough, a week later, hotel mgmt said "ok no cokes for anybody"

I have to often wonder what goes through the minds of people like this?

As Ron White has said many times, you can't fix stupid. There's no pill you can take to fix stupid.

Sorry you had to spend 3 or 4 days with this guy. It's guys like this that make me think we should start doing psych test on the regional level too. It's just not that serious, especially since it's free.

Long ago, as a rEAL pilot in NYC, I'm sitting in a crash pad when the phone rings. I answer and the guy on the other end is a new hire looking for a place. He had 2 questions, was there a spot available, and when taking a shower and someone in the building flushed a toilet, did the water temp change?

Speaking of crash pads, how difficult is it to get one in NYC? How much do they typically cost? I'm a new hire coming from the military so this is new to me. I'm assuming I'll need one for at least a few months.

There is hundreds of them. So not very hard to find. Most people find them via word of mouth or from a friend of friend or poster in a crew lounge. Most of them are in the Kew Gardens neighborhood, its a safe area,it's pretty much exactly between LGA and JFK. They run usually about $200-$300 average. You can spend a lot more though depending on what you are looking for or if you have something specific in mind.
