The flow in AA's case I believe has less to do with attrition control and everything to do with being a ZERO COST recruiting tool.

It's a long term staffing method at AA until their regional can't get pilots. Long term way of keeping pilots in their system.

I've posted the same thing in the past. You are spot on! ALPA screwed up the SSP but it was a different ballgame back then. Now we are suddenly important (relevant), so let's ask our ALPA reps for major gains.
