Based on your join date and your posts, am I correct in assuming you were here for the BK? If so, did you take a pay cut? Then got the bonus. And now you are willing to take yet ANOTHER pay cut, when every other regional is pushing for (and getting) more pay (see Mesa, Envoy, PDT, etc.).
83 hours is a pay cut, period. Divide the bonus by 75, and it's a straight-across-the-board equal distribution of pay. Divide it by 83 when your pay is based on 75 hours, and it becomes a pay cut. Our MIN GUARANTEE is 75, not 83. Don't see why people can't understand that.
To be politically correct, a bonus is a supplemental income as defined by the IRS; that's why it's taxed at a higher rate. Hourly pay is income. A bonus is income. Call it what you will, it pays the bills. Until it expires, of course.

It's a bonus, not pay. It's guaranteed for 4 years from when it started.
(Look at your own Websters definition.)
Then it's gone.
Go get a mortgage on a house and try to count it as pay, mortgage companies get it and that's why it won't be counted.
It needs to be turned into an hourly wage increase, then it will be considered pay.
And the 83 hours is fair, it will give more money than the retention bonus to 85% of our pilots.

I think some people on this forum are confusing pay with compensation. In almost every way our new contact should be better
If 15% of the pilots have a lower guaranteed 75hr pay it should be offset by more 401k company contributions, higher per deim, more vacation time, ability to trade rsv days for trips, etc. etc. please don't bash our own pilot negotiators they are fighting for us all, cjo or not.

The bonus may be income but it's not a pay rate.
They don't have to do anything to make the bonus go away, just wait the allotted time.
At least in bankruptcy they had to work for it.
I'm not a defeatist, but we can't take on Delta, we get what we can get when we can get it, and that time is now.
I came at you? I asked you, "what's your point?" That's how you interpreted it? You're guilty of assuming I was attacking. I gave you some background info and for some reason took that personally. I understand some of our pilots have problems with our regional partners but you must look at it from their perspective, whether theirs is right or wrong. As for me, I spent almost a decade at a regional and have an all civilian background like so many hired in the last 3 years. I personally have more empathy than most of our old guard.
As for participating in the regional boards, specifically the Endeavor forum, I want to understand what's going on with everything that could impact Delta. Forgive me for showing any interest in my company.

Just tell them to F off. I don't wear the hat to specifically distinguish myself as a regional pilot. But if someone wants to wear the hat, that's perfectly fine and dandy. The hat looks good. Rock that sh*&. No one should be busting your b@lls for wearing it. So I say tell them to F off.

For all you smart guys and gals out there. What is the difference in dollars per hour dividing the $23,0000 between 75hr and 83hr? $2.00/hr in pay? $5.00/hr in pay? Put it in this context and ask why is Delta and the Union squabbling over $2-$3/hr?

Why would you vote yes to get paid $3 an hour less than you currently do?
