I'm coming in January, so only 599 to go. Anyone have reserve from LGA or JFK advice? I'll be new, willing to work as much as needed as a newbie. Commuting from BOS, ideally (should I get one of those bases), is a crash pad a necessity or can you pick up flying on rsv? Any and all advice is appreciated. Looking forward to it.

ALPA's proposals per the latest email:
· All Open Time at 150%.
· Increased Open Time to reduce or eliminate the “credit push.”
· Enable Max Line Range – Premium pay above a certain specified level of pay credit.
· Hotel rooms in domicile for pilots who are rescheduled to overnight in domicile.
· Parking stipend for commuters.
· Increase vacation pay from 2.5 to 3.5 hours per day.
· Deadhead pay moving from 75% to 100%.
· Alternate DH deviation – would allow a pilot at the end of a trip to change a DH to domicile to a DH home.
· Commute in during the call out period on the first day of a reserve sequence.
· Early release from P1 and P2 for Reserve pilots – P1 release at 1400, P2 release at 1900.
· Reserve pilot’s ability to waive 11 hours domicile rest in order to secure RRA on a pilot’s last day.
· Moving the Bid Timeline earlier – move the final line awards to be out on the 16th and match timeline for FTIs.
No mention of pay rate improvements which is unfortunate. I was under the impression the contract amendments was to make this company attractive for 600+ new hires next year. We'll still get people in the door but I don't see 600 under current book. We'll see.

We are in the upper 30's I believe. Haven't looked recently. The standing order of "as many hours as endeavor can take" is still in play.
I'll make some inquiries for the specific number. Haven't been in the office to check myself.

It's 59 by end of 2016 according to our fearless pilot leader.

Thanks for the heads up. I picked the 1/18 class because it was supposedly all 900, as opposed to the class two weeks earlier which was for both. This was at the suggestion of the interviewers, seeing as NYC (all 900) would be my preferred base location. As a new employee, I'm ready to deal with whatever base/aircraft that is assigned and I'll cross that bridge at the time. Someone earlier in the thread said a BOS-DTW wasn't a bad commute, and I have extended family near MSP. I realize the company can change at a whim too. Going in ready for whatever, but just trying to get as much Intel as I can. I really appreciate all the great info I'm getting from APC members.
